Tip #01:

Start by expressing your love for your spouse.

Your vows should start with an expression of your love for your spouse. Tell them how much you care for them, and why you want to spend the rest of your life with them. This is a great opportunity to share some of your favorite memories together, or to list the reasons why you love them.

Tip #02

Keep it personal.

Make sure that your vows are personal and specific to you and your spouse. Don’t use a generic template – instead, write from the heart. This is your chance to tell your spouse how unique and special they are to you.

Tip #03:

Share your hopes and dreams.

Your vows are a great opportunity to share your hopes and dreams for the future. Tell them where you want to travel, or what kind of house you’d like to live in. You can even talk about how many children you would like to have together! Whatever it is that you dream about, make sure that you share it with your spouse.

Tip #04:

Be yourself!

Be sure to write vows that reflect who you are as a person. Don’t try to be someone you’re not, or say something just because it sounds good. It’s okay if your vows aren’t perfect – your spouse will love them anyway, because they will be coming from the heart.

Tip #05:

Add a touch of humor.

It’s okay to add a touch of humor to your vows! After all, marriage is supposed to be fun! Just be sure not to make any jokes at the expense of your spouse, or about anything too serious. You want them laughing with you, not at you!

Tip #06:

Use meaningful language.

In your vows, use language that is meaningful to you. If you have a special phrase or pet name that you and your spouse use, be sure to include it in your vows! It will make them even more special.

Tip #07:

Don’t try too hard.

It’s okay if your vows aren’t perfect – in fact, they might even be better that way! Just relax and write from the heart. The most important thing is to express your love for your spouse in your own unique way.

Tip #08:

Have a backup plan.

If you get nervous, it’s okay! Just remember that everyone is rooting for you to succeed. If all else fails, just repeat after the officiant – they will be sure to say something romantic and meaningful. You can even write your vows on note cards and read them if need be.

Tip #09:

Make it special.

Your vows should be something that you will always remember. Be sure to have them printed out and framed, or even put them into a special book. This way, you can look back on them whenever you need a reminder of how much you love your spouse.

Tip #010:

Practice, practice, practice.

The best way to make sure that your vows are perfect is to practice them! Read them out loud a few times until you feel comfortable saying them in front of everyone. This will help you to stay calm and confident on your wedding day.

We hope these tips have helped you as you begin writing your vows. Remember, they don’t have to be perfect – just write them from the heart! Your spouse will love you no matter what, so don’t worry if your vows aren’t perfect.
