Oh, sigh. Malibu. The rolling hills, the scenery, the beauty, the stars, the vibe. It all came together on an amazing (rainy!) wedding day at the renowned Calamigos ranch. Initially, J Grant Gerson purchased 15 acres in Malibu in 1947 and founded Calamigos Covered Wagon Club, a boy’s travel camp. Now, nestled on 130 acres of cozy and dramatic land, they offer a variety of wedding options.

The rain was simply there to mirror the tears falling from those in attendance. Added to the smiles, the laughs, the love set inside this great Malibu wedding venue.

Calami is an Indian word meaning “come as my brother, come as my friend”. A beautiful ode to the weddings that take place there. Accented vault ceilings reaching up as though never-ending, with incredible oak woodwork beams punctuating the sweetheart table. It is quite a sight to behold.

For Kimberly and Mark’s ceremony on the sweeping deck at the oaks room, it was a magical experience. Backdropped by natural stone waterfalls and set apart by a symbolic bridge. The rain didn’t stop us from scampering over to the rustic farmhouse for our cinematic ‘notebook‘ looking couples session.

Across the pond from your ceremony site is the reception area with natural light filtering from the 360-degree French oak doors. Cascading twinkle lights and rustic iron chandeliers. Anchoring the picturesque reception area is a warm river rock fireplace setting the ambiance for your closest friends and family.
