How to Write Perfect Wedding Thank You Cards

It can be a daunting task to write wedding thank you cards. You want to make sure that you express your gratitude in the most heartfelt way possible, but you also don't want to take too long or seem like you're putting it off. Five Simple Steps for Your Thank You Cards

Step One

Start by writing out your wedding invitation list. Your wedding invitations should have everyone’s name, address, phone number and email address listed on them. You may also have a wedding website where you can find this information if needed, but it’s easier just to write it down from the start so that there is no confusion later on when sending out wedding thank you cards or other correspondence after your wedding day has passed.

Step Two

Write down all of the people who gave gifts at your wedding. This will include wedding gifts, shower gifts, and any other type of gift that was given to you. Be sure to write down the name of the person who gave you the gift, as well as their mailing address and contact information (phone number and/or email address).

Step Three

Write your thank you cards! It’s best to order them as soon as possible after you’ve gotten your wedding invitations out. This will give your guests enough time to receive them and mail them back before the wedding.

When you’re writing your wedding thank you cards, be sure to start with a personal note. Thank the person for coming to your wedding and for their gift. You don’t need to write a long letter, just a few sentences will do.

Step Four

After you’ve thanked the person for coming and for their gift, be sure to mention what the gift was. If it was a gift card, mention where it was from. If it was something that needs to be returned, let the guest know that you’ll be sending it back to them as soon as possible.

Step Five

Finally, always end with a thank you and sign off! If you’re writing wedding thank you cards for multiple people at once, then make sure to write something different on each one so that they don’t get mixed up in the mail.
